In the Book of Revelation John describes a vision of the descent of the Holy City New Jerusalem which is portrayed as being square and having twelve gates, three on each side. Emanuel Swedenborg comments on this by explaining that the twelve gates signify all the knowledges of truth and good by means of which a person is introduced into the church.
It is this idea of twelve gates that has been adopted as a structure for this web site although the theological Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg do not have such an approach.
The Key Areas of Teachings are:
to be added
A decision was made early on in the development of the site not to wait for a complete set of articles before launching the site. Consequently although each key area has at least one article already available other articles will appear from time to time.
Another decision made was to avoid repeating articles on Emanuel Swedenborg as these can found elsewhere, particularly on the Spiritual Wisdom web site please follow this link for further information:
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
